About Me
Music fan first, entrepreneur and senior marketer second.
As a kid growing up in Los Angeles, music was my life. My walls were plastered with heavy metal and punk rock posters and clippings from newspapers and magazines. I lived for the latest Iron Maiden and Metallica album and counted the days until they'd return to the Forum. Eventually that passion would be turned towards Fugazi, The Replacements, Nine Inch Nails, and the Pixies.

I produced my first concert and managed my first band while I was in high school and when I got to college at UC San Diego I booked hundreds of acts, managed a couple more bands, ran a record store (remember those?), DJ'd at KSDT, and was the music editor of the school paper. All of that fueled my desire to work behind-the-scenes in the music business and landed me a job at the legendary A&M Records where I spent an amazing 8 years heading up the Tour Marketing department and doing A&R.
Post A&M I co-founded a technology/marketing company called Fanscape, the first social media marketing agency, that brought music fans closer to their favorite musicians than ever before. Over time we did the same for tours, movies, television shows and brands, and eventually we sold the whole shebang to the largest advertising company in the US, Omnicom.

Through it all, I've never lost touch with one main idea, take care of your fans (or customers if you are selling products), and they will take care of you; treat them like crap and they'll abandon you and move on to the next.
